Job Description
The Opportunity:
The VP of Brand Management will lead the Brand team and be responsible for developing, implementing, and advancing the strategy, experience, voice, campaigns, and capabilities of our multiple brands. This will include overseeing the development and implementation of brand positioning and plans (product, marketing, advertising, creative, social media, and business plans) to enhance our brands’ presence and awareness while contributing to our overall business goals. The VP of Brand Management will play a key role in helping the company reach its Moonshot Goal. This critical leadership role will report directly to the President and CEO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The VP of Brand Management will lead the Brand team and be responsible for developing, implementing, and advancing the strategy, experience, voice, campaigns, and capabilities of our multiple brands. This will include overseeing the development and implementation of brand positioning and plans (product, marketing, advertising, creative, social media, and business plans) to enhance our brands’ presence and awareness while contributing to our overall business goals. The VP of Brand Management will play a key role in helping the company reach its Moonshot Goal. This critical leadership role will report directly to the President and CEO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Team
- Lead and manage the Brand Team fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
- Develop Board-level reporting of brand programs and present to Board at quarterly meetings
- Develop long term and short-term brand strategies to support our business objectives and goals while ensuring key stakeholder buy in including:
- Internal Teams
- Publishing
- Entertainment
- Agencies
- Strategic Partners
- Develop and manage brand level P&L’s
- Collaborate with internal departments including Sales, Publishing, Digital, Legal, Entertainment and Finance to ensure brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints
- Oversee development of market research to understand industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape. Use this insight to identify opportunities for our brands
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of brand strategies and make data driven decisions
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing, advertising, social and PR plans
- Lead effort to align with outside strategic promotional partners to enhance and increase brand awareness
- Develop and manage budgets for brand related initiatives and allocate resources effectively to maximize the impact of brand strategies
- 10+ years brand management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA considered an asset
- Ability to independently problem solve to ensure that the brand’s key strategic objectives are implemented and provide solutions that ensure the fulfillment of the brand function’s objectives
- Demonstrate a highly organized approach to problem solving and business planning; an intelligent quick study who can analyze problems and provide solutions rapidly
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Demonstrated ability and success in developing brand campaigns for a major entertainment IP or popular consumer brand
- Experience in creating and delivering persuasive business development presentations
- Experience working in a fast-paced organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment
- Experience working for both a large enterprise and either a start-up or high-growth organization is a plus
- Strong ability to develop collaborative relationships with multiple partners from executive to junior levels
- Experience utilizing data and measurement to drive decisions
