Senior Manager Audience Strategy – Paid Platforms

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and innovative Senior Manager of Audience Strategy – Paid Platforms to drive subscriber acquisition and growth across our paid media channels. This role will lead the development and execution of audience strategies that maximize targeting precision, and audience lifetime value (LTV) across paid social, programmatic, and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in performance marketing, audience segmentation, and AI-driven targeting, leveraging tools such as Meta Advantage+, Google Performance Max, LinkedIn Predictive Audiences, and third-party data integrations with LiveRamp, TransUnion, and Experian.

This role will work closely with the Head of Paid Media and Head of Marketing Data Science, reporting into one depending on the candidate. 

Key Responsibilities

Audience Growth & Acquisition

  • Develop and execute paid audience acquisition strategies across Meta, Google, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and programmatic platforms.

  • Optimize lookalike seed audiences, AI-driven platform audiences, and third-party data enrichment to maximize reach, engagement, and conversions.

  • Implement a portfolio-based audience strategy, balancing scale and precision by integrating multiple audience types effectively (Lookalikes, First-Party, In-Platform AI, Third-Party Data).

  • Facilitate the translation of customer and persona research into actionable audience development 

Audience Segmentation & Targeting

  • Build and refine high-value audience segments using:

    • First-party data (CRM, website behavior, subscription history, inhouse models & segmentations).

    • Platform AI (Meta Advantage+, Predictive Audiences).

    • Third-party data & audiences (LiveRamp, Acxiom, Experian).

  • Implement advanced models to target high-intent & high-value users and continuously maximize growth with efficiency.

  • Continuously analyze AI-generated audiences vs. custom-built lookalikes to optimize campaign performance.

  • Understand and align audience development and deployment across media platforms 

Audience Optimization & Performance 

  • Regularly evaluate audience scalability and efficiency, ensuring the right balance between broad reach and high precision.

  • Avoid overly narrow or diluted audiences by adjusting segmentation parameters based on real-time performance data.

  • Optimize audience overlap and diversify targeting approaches to drive sustainable growth.

Experimentation & Innovation

  • Launch audience experimentation roadmaps (A/B testing, split testing) to improve conversion rates

  • Drive innovation by piloting new data partnerships, and privacy-first audience models.


Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in audience strategy, performance marketing, or digital media.

  • Expertise in ad platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, DSPs) and their audience-building capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of data platforms (CDPs, DMPs, GA4) and experience activating first-party data.

  • Deep interest in audience development and the impact it can have on a paid media program

  • Data-driven, strong analytical skills, power user of advanced models and complex datasets (e.g., subscription history, transaction history etc). Ability to synthesize data, make data-driven decisions, use data & models to identify and action on gaps and opportunities, and persuasively present recommendations

  • Self-starter with a passion for building programs from scratch and scaling audience strategies.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills to influence stakeholders across research, data science, and product marketing teams.
