Job Description
Director of Stores
Our client, a growing dispensary brand, is looking for a Director of Stores who can work out of their Little Rock office and is willing to travel.
The Director of Stores supplies leadership to their Regional Managers and is responsible for achieving revenue and guaranteeing inventory compliance within each of their locations. This position obsesses over creating exceptional customer and employee experience and continually looks for ways to improve our client's people, processes, and products. The Director of Stores will ensure all store operation’s directives are being properly executed, that stores are adequately staffed; and will develop talent while building a pipeline of future leaders. The position analyzes business trends and takes a data-based approach to identify opportunities within their States. The Director of Stores works with the VP of Ops to build and execute market strategies that improve store performance. This position models the Company values in all interactions and decision-making, setting the standard for all employees in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead by influencing and empowering Regional Managers to execute job responsibilities while modeling company values in all action, communication and decision-making.
• Establish clear expectations and accountability.
• Take an active role in direct reports development by assessing performance and supplying prompt coaching and feedback. Work with direct reports on goal setting, development plans, and regularly follow-up on progress.
• Build State specific talent plans that prepare people for future roles.
• Support change management within the States as the retail organization continues to evolve.
• Ensure the States operate in compliance with program regulations as well as all relevant federal, State, and local levels while upholding company policies and values.
• Foster a culture that focuses on supplying an exceptional customer experience to drive patient loyalty and retention by supporting a team formed of people who are excited about the the company vision and work to provide that every day.
• Analyze business trends and partner with the VP of Ops to build and implement plans to improve financial performance.
• Champion the implementation of new operations programs and ensure all merchandising direction, customer campaigns, and sales promotions are executed to company standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Leadership Maturity: Serve as a role model for performance and organizational behavior by showing confident decision-making skills, a willingness to learn, and a curiosity about your business.
• Business Acumen: Make sound business decisions based on a strong understanding of the company’s business model, strategic goals, and relevant policies.
• Team Building: Empower, encourage, and hold team members accountable to working together to complete tasks and accomplish goals that individual members could not carry out alone.
• Organizational Savvy: Understand the Company’s vision and standards and ensure compliance on a store level.
• Deliberative Decision Making: Gather, consider, and evaluate all relevant information to make logical conclusions before being moved to action.
• Leading Change: Effectively create a vision for change and engage others to remain adaptable and open to change.
• Project Management: Effectively leads and manages projects with a sense of urgency while supporting brand standards.
• Customer Experience: Foster a culture within the region that focuses on improving the customer experience
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of experience in multi-unit management.
• Strong knowledge of state and local regulations about the cannabis industry a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop teams and grow leaders to achieve business goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills that are executed with a sense of ownership.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Must be able to travel between stores within their Region and make occasional visits to HQ.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
