Job Summary: 
Our client, a leading company in the fintech industry, is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team in the Bay Area. 

You will be part of the newly formed marketing analytical team driving growth by leveraging advanced analytics.  This role will report to the Head of Audience and Marketing Analytics. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Play a big part in identifying opportunities to help the marketing function scale through acquisition, onboarding, engagement and renewal strategies. 
  • Help address the complex challenges of experimental design, budget allocation, marketing effectiveness, contact strategy, return on investment, user behavior, and channel effectiveness using state-of-the-art machine learning models.
  • Work closely with the paid and CRM marketing teams and be responsible for campaign pre and post-analysis, cohorting, experiment design, segmentation, KPI measurement, and so much more.
  • Determine what 3rd party data sources we should leverage to build audience segments. Explore the possibility of overlaps, segmentation, and data appends in developing audiences to produce richer more relevant segments.
  • Develop media optimization models such as media mix, channel attribution and audience-based channel attribution modeling. Measure the impact of media for better ROAS. Measure the incremental effectiveness of media spend and model future spend.
  • Work closely with the paid and CRM marketing teams and be responsible for campaign pre and post-analysis, cohorting, experiment design, segmentation, KPI measurement, and more. 
  • Build and implement incrementality measurement, understand customer journey to fulfill funnel gaps, optimize channel investments, and etc.

Qualifications
  • Fully conversant in using advanced analytic techniques, machine learning, and data-driven strategies to build audiences and solve an array of business challenges across the prospect and customer journey.
  • 6+ years industry experience and advanced degree in quantitative discipline 
  • Experience in building audiences 
  • Experience in Growth Marketing, Attribution Systems, Customer LTV
  • Experience building custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
  • Deep knowledge of experiment design and causal inference, strong analytical and causal reasoning mindset
  • Fluency in core set of Data Science
  • SQL/Hive, R/Python and ETL
